CLASSROOM RULES: The following list includes my expectations for the students. I wish the best for all of my
students and will try my best to help you succeed.

Act mature – You are in a high school classroom.

GRADING POLICY: Effective for the 2018-2019 school year, grades will be calculated on a percentage system. The
course will be graded on 2 separate 18 week scales. There will be no 2nd or 4th 9 weeks grades issued. The course
grade is cumulative for first semester and second semester individually. The grading scale is as follows:
100-93.0% A 86.9-83.0% B 76.9-73.0% C 66.9-63.0% D
92.9-90.0% A- 82.9-80.0% B- 72.9-70.0% C- 62.9-60.0% D-
89.9-87.0% B+ 79.9-77.0% C+ 69.9-67.0% D+ 59.9% or below F
Grading percentage breakdown:
Classwork/Homework – 10%
Lab Reports (2 per semester) – 5% each
Test/Quizzes – 30%
Final Exam – 20%
Weekly Essays – 15%
Diversity of Life – 15%
* Homework should be turned in on time to receive credit. Absent/missing/late work to be turned in with end of chapter log
** Unit tests are designed to prepare students for the SAT exam. They will consist of multiple choice, true/false, matching, short answer, problems, and essays.
*** All tests and quizzes will be collected and stored by the teacher. Any student wishing to review a completed
test or quiz may meet with the teacher individually to discuss the test or quiz.
**** Grades will be posted on Power School. Please consult Power School if you have any questions about current assignments, test scores, or the overall course grade.
